  Accommodation intro

This traditional cottage, on the border of the Aggtelek National Park in the picturesque village of Tornaszentandrás, has two bedrooms and comfortably sleeps a family of six. There is also a shower room, well appointed kitchen, dining room and a selection of DVDs, CDs, books, magazines and board games for your enjoyment.

The large garden has a sheltered dining/barbecue area, swing, space for parking and wood chopping, a secure bike store and an orchard of plum and walnut trees. Thick walls keep the property cool in summer and wood-burning stoves in each room provide warmth in winter. We have also incorporated solar panels and will be glad to show you how these work.

The cottage was built in 1897 and sensitively renovated 100 years later. Between the ceiling beams in one room you can still pick out five bullet holes, shot from the gun of a Russian soldier in the First World War. Each one is reassuringly small and they remain a mute testimony to the history of the place.

Will you find them?
